The maximum duration for the battery is based on ideal test conditions from the battery’s manufacturer. As with any battery powered device, real world values vary. Please note that advanced features such as Real-Time Traffic Updates and Bluetooth require additional battery power. To optimize battery performance:

1.    Limit Bluetooth® usage.  When your device is connected to a Bluetooth enabled phone, the power consumption is dramatically higher.

2.    Adjust the screen brightness to a lower level.   This can be modified through Basic Settings.  Note that you have separate values for Day and Night usage.

3.    When you will not be using your NAVIGON device for an extended period, power down the system by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds. To power on your NAVIGON device, press the Power button again for 10 seconds. (If you own a NAVIGON 8100T, 5100 max, 2100 max or 2120 max, you will need to hold the power button down while simultaneously pressing the reset button.)
